Description

This project is financed through a Build, Operate and Transfer Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Under this agreement, a private company, Oriental Structural Engineers, financed the widening and rehabilitation of the road. The Government of India has given Oriental Structural Engineers a concession of 20 years for the construction, improvement, operation and maintenance of National Highway 11 from Agra to Bharatpur. Construction included the strengthening and widening of the pre-existing two-lane road to a four-lane dual carriageway from km. 15 to km. 63 in the States of Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan.

The Government of India selected the private partner through a competitive bidding process in which the criteria for selection was the lowest subsidy required.
