Construction of transit gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China will be started in Kyrgyzstan at the end of 2019, chairman of the Kyrgyz State Committee of Industry, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ulanbek Ryskulov told.

The gas pipeline will start from Turkmenistan, then through Uzbekistan and Tajikistan it will come to Kyrgyzstan and from here it goes to China.

"The Chinese company SINO-Pipeline International Company Limited will build the gas pipeline. The pipeline will run through the territory of Chon-Alai towards Irkeshtam in Kyrgyzstan. The total length in Kyrgyzstan will be approximately 215 km, the throughput capacity will be 3 billion cubic meters. Total construction of the project is estimated at $ 1.2 billion. The construction will be carried out entirely at the expense of the Chinese side. The project according to plan will be accomplished by 2020," Ryskulov said.
