This project involves the widening of 4/6 laning of 126 km road in the Ghaziabad and Aligarh districts of Uttar Pradesh. This Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is characterized by a build, operate, and transfer (BOT) model. The project authority, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), granted 24-year concession to the Ghaziabad Aligarh Expressway Pvt. Ltd. (GAEPL). The road is to be constructed on existing alignment for 68.3 km and the new bypasses of Dadri, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr, Khurja, Gabhana & Aligarh are to be constructed in 58.3 km.
Ghaziabad is an engineering, electronics, and leather and textile goods hub and Dadri, which is on the project road, is logistics hub.
