Description

GMR Group commissioned the project in March, 2009. The scope of the project included widening of the existing 2-lanes to 4-lanes, improvement, operation and maintenance and rehabilitation and strengthening of the existing road.

Built to world-class standards, the four laning of this road has eased traffic congestion providing users a safe and fast means to commute.

The project has been awarded as Green Highway by NHAI for the year 2015 -16.

This project was financed through a brownfield public-private partnership in which the Government of India gave the private partner, GMR Pocchanpalli Expressways Ltd., a 20 year concession to build, rehabilitate, operate and transfer a 103 kilometer stretch of road in Telangana state from Adloor Yellareddy to Gundla Pochanpalli (now Gundlapochampally). The Government of India provided a capital subsidy to this project.
