The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail Project aims to develop a rail connection between the capital cities of Malaysia and Singapore that significantly cuts down existing travel times (from 4-5 hours to 90 minutes).
As of June 2018, the newly-elected Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, announced his intent to cancel the project due to its high price tag.
