This toll road connects Manado and Bitung in Northern Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, supporting the future Bitung Port and Bitung SEZ. It supplements the old road, which has become crowded and congested.
In June 2016, Jasa Marga won the 40-year toll road concession under the SBOT (Supported-Build-Operate-Transfer) scheme. The government will provide assistance in acquisition of land, construction of 13.5 kilometers, and support for financial feasibility of the project. The 39 kilometers long Manado-Bitung toll road consists of two sections; Section 1 is 13.5 kilometers long and is the responsibility of the Government of Indonesia, whereas the Section II is 25.5 kilometers and its construction is the responsibility of the private sector.
