Description
The construction of the Preah Vihear-Kaoh Kong Railway line is a joint-venture between two Chinese companies, China Railway Group and Cambodia Iron and Steel Mining Industry Group. The designated rail line is expected to connect a steel plant in Rovieng in Cambodia's northern Preah Vihear province to the island of Kaoh Smach in the southwestern province of Koh Kong. 11 stations will be constructed to run along the designated route, which will run through Koh Kong, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Thom, and Preah Vihear provinces. The entire length of the route is estimated at 400 kms.
