Description

This project is a railway line intended to serve Quetta, Balochistan, which will be single-track from Spezand to Sariab and double-track from Sariab to Kuchlak. It is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)'s western route. Phase one of the Quetta Mass Transit system, a 48.5 kilometer railroad, will be completed by 2019. The original feasibility report for phase one was submitted and reviewed by provincial authorities and Chinese officials in November of 2016, and in November 2017 it was announced that the project will secure funding from a Chinese bank. Phase-I (48.5 km) will be completed by 2019 at a cost of USD214mn; This project will be developed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.
